Sapporo Snow Festival
Only an hour away from Tomokomai city! One of Japan's largest winter events, attracts about 2 million visitors from Japan and abroad every year.
It takes place in Sapporo's Odori Park, the grounds at Community Dome Tsudome, and the main street in Susukino. There are hundreds of beautiful snow statues and ice sculptures. For a week in February, these statues and sculptures turn Sapporo into a winter wonderland of crystal-like ice and white snow.

Sapporo White Illumination
The first snow hearlds in Sapporo's White Illumination. It first began in 1981 and now uses over 350,000 lights symbolizing seasonal themes in sparkling beauty.  Enjoy the beauty of the "Art of Lights" from Sapporo.

Otaru Snow Light Path
The Otaru Snow Light Path is known not only domestically but also internationally as a premiere winter event next only to the Sapporo Snow Festival. It is an event in which more than 10,000 candles are light at the Otaru canal.  The canal is enveloped in the magical lights of the candles, a gentle and natural contrast to the decorative illuminations.

Chitose-Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival
Large and small objects are sprinkled with water and allowed to ice over creating a natural blue shine which is called Shikotsu blue during the day and light up with various colored lights at night produce a magical fantasy world popularized now as a hot spot!
